Work Christmas Party Ideas Near Broadway & Ultimo, With Roti

Somebody has to organise the work Christmas party, and if you’re reading this, it’s probably you.

The good news is you don’t need a bar tab or a long table in a loud pub. If your team is around Ultimo, Broadway, UTS or Pyrmont, here are four ways to do it with us, depending on group size, budget and how much effort you want to put in.

1. Book the team into a Roti Masterclass

This is the one people talk about afterwards. Our Roti Master Suresh takes small groups of around eight at a time and shows them how to stretch and flip roti paratha. Meanwhile everyone else settles into a five-course dinner. Everyone gets their turn at the bench, and the food keeps coming all night.

It works well for work groups because nobody’s stuck making small talk. There’s always something to watch, laugh at or have a go at yourself. And yes, watching your manager try to flip dough does break the ice.

  • When: Thursday evenings, 6pm to about 9pm

  • Public classes this December: Thursday 3rd and Thursday 17th

  • Price: $95 per person, including the class, five-course dinner and a welcome drink, or $125 per person with bottomless drinks

Seats in the public classes are limited, and some tables may be shared. See the Masterclass details and book here.

Want the class just for your team? We’re happy to run private group Masterclasses outside the usual Thursday nights. Send us a private group enquiry.

2. Take over the whole venue

We’re not open to the public every night, so in the evening the venue can be all yours. We can seat up to 40 for a sit-down dinner, or clear most of the furniture for a canapé-style stand-up event for up to 70.

You can keep it simple with a roti banquet, or add a Masterclass for part of the night. We’ll put together a menu and drinks package to suit. Bowie tunes come as standard.

Send us a private event enquiry with your date and numbers, and we’ll be in touch.

3. Keep it simple with a set menu lunch

Not every team wants a night out. A long lunch can be easier to get everyone to, especially in the last week before the break.

Our set menus take the decisions out of it:

  • Kooks Canai & Co, $30pp: roti canai, chicken satay, Thai beef madtarbak, rojak salad and loaded fries

  • Curry Banquet, $50pp: curry puffs, madtarbak, rojak salad, three curries with rice and condiments, and unlimited freshly cooked roti paratha. You tell us when to stop.

We’re open 7 days from 6am, and the kitchen takes last orders at 3pm. For groups of 10 or more, send us a group booking request. We’re fully licensed, and BYO wine is welcome for $8 corkage per bottle.

4. Bring the roti to the office

If getting everyone out of the office is the hard part, we’ll come to you. Our catering menu covers curries with roti, madtarbaks, chicken satay, curry puffs, salads, and sweet and savoury roti bambu. It works for office lunches, end-of-year drinks and team celebrations.

A few things worth knowing

  • Mixed dietary needs: all our meat comes from Halal certified suppliers, and there are plenty of vegetarian dishes. Let us know about dietary requirements when you book and we’ll look after them where we can.

  • Book early: December fills up quickly, especially Thursdays and Fridays. Lock in a date before you’ve finalised numbers; it’s easier to adjust a booking than to find a free night.

  • Easy to get to: we’re at 63 Mountain Street, Ultimo, close to UTS, Broadway and Central.

Ready to sort it out?

Whatever the size of your team, we’re happy to take enquiries for any date in December. Tell us roughly how many people, the vibe you’re after, and whether it’s lunch or dinner, and we’ll help you work out the rest.
